The content
of Stephanie Marx's graphic work divides itself into several levels.
A central position is taken up by the interpretation of technical
components and machines, which are in a refined way, examined and
extended for their suitability as objects of art. This clearly demonstrates
her skilled methods of bringing out the individual components in
such a way that they change or dissipate their technical appearance.
Another partial complex extends those technical components with
biological motifs, which have in comparison an almost contrary and
at the same time not a strange effect. In her recent woodcut series
she reflects on the relationships of today's landscapes in a world
of changed environments, the natural components of which are assimilated
into new changed structures.
